Kelly Chan is a 15-year-old sophomore at County Prep High School in New Jersey. Facing racism at a young age, she aspires to spread awareness and share stories through the Asian Awareness Project and other outlets of media. With art being a very prominent factor in her life, she expresses her thoughts and messages through drawing, music, and other art forms. Being raised in Chinatown, NYC and a first gen Asian American, she is passionate about the culture that is passed down through many generations.

Sophia Li is an Asian teen who grew up in Manhattan, NYC. She has experienced countless examples of racial discrimination and hopes to make a positive impact on others, ultimately eliminating common harassment. She advocates for equity and justice for minorities. She is passionate about educating other people as well as bringing attention to current issues around the world. She joined The AAP with hopes that they will bring more attention regarding matters in the Asian community and spread their knowledge to a larger audience.

This is Angie and she is currently a sophomore attending Brooklyn Tech in Nyc. She has lived in Chinatown her entire life and growing up there has brought a new perspective to certain topics. She hope that with this account, she can also share some experiences as a Chinese-American and the culture that she is extremely proud of.

Katherine is a sophomore at the Bronx Highschool of Science in NYC. She is a second generation Asian-American with roots in Chinatown and has experienced the ups and downs of this lasting neighborhood. She hopes that through this account she can share her family’s stories and bring awareness to the injustices Asians face in this world!
